The Workers Party of Bangladesh and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist) on Monday demanded special aid package for informal sector workers who are enduring joblessness and financial hardship due to coronavirus situation.
Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon, while distributing foods among the poor people at Topkhana Road in Dhaka, appreciated the incentive package announced by prime minister Sheikh Hasina for trade and industries.
Menon said at least 27 per cent workers of the country belong to the informal sector and there should be another aid package for the workers.
WP Dhaka city branch president Abul Hossain, city leader Mostafa Alamgir Ratan, Ferdusy Akther Lucky and others attended the programme.
General secretary of SPB (Marxist) Mubinul Haider Chowdhury in a press statement said that the businessmen and the rich people would be benefited by the package announced by prime minster on Sunday.
He also demanded a separate package for the poor and the working class people.
