The administrations put two houses under lockdown in Cumilla city and Doudkandi upazila on Monday and Sunday to prevent spread of COVID-19.
Local administration on Monday put a house at Paschim Bagichagaon Station Road in Cumilla city under lockdown as a man of the house was suspected to be infected by coronavirus.
Deputy civil surgeon of Cumilla Mohammad Shahadat Hossain said that the authorities concerned had collected sample of the man for testing for coronavirus infection as he had been suffering from fever and cold and the sample was sent to the capital on Sunday.
After being informed about the incident, local administration put the house under lockdown on Monday afternoon.
Daudkandi upazila administration on Sunday locked down a house at village Bhelanagar of Iliatganj Uttar union in Cumilla after a resident showed symptoms of COVID-19.
Upazila nirbahi officer Kamrul Islam Khan said that six families of the house were put under lockdown following the advice of the upazila health officer.
Sample from the man would be collected on Monday for testing, he said.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 123 coronavirus infection cases and 12 deaths.
