Businessman hacked to death

A businessman was hacked to death and two others were injured near Kharki graveyard in Jashore town Wednesday night.

The deceased was Al Amin, 24, a resident of Kharki in Jashore town. The injured, Chhoto Al Amin, 22, and Shaheb Ali, 45, residents of the same area, are undergoing treatment at Jashore General Hospital.

Moniruzzzaman, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station, told New Age that the victim’s father, Alamgir Hossain, filed a case with Kotwali police station accusing 19. ‘The police arrested eight people in this connection,’ he added.

Injured Chhoto Al Amin told newsmen that the trio was wounded in an attack carried out allegedly by Jamal, Hira, Pintu, Bipul, Liton, Tariqul and some others while the formers were returning home after collecting money from a customer who bought sand from the senior Al Amin at around 9:00pm.

The miscreants fled the scene as locals rushed to the spot hearing their shouting for help.

Aklima Begum, an aunt of the dead, told that the victim was first rushed to Jashore General Hospital and then Khulna Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.
