The government of the Indian state of Karnataka has asked the home quarantined suspects of coronavirus to send their selfie every hour through a specific mobile app.
The decision was taken on Monday in context to numerous locals — including those who came from abroad — escaping the mandatory 14 days quarantine in numerous places including Bangalore and Mangalore, reports Indian Bengali daily Anandabazar.
The state administration said, ‘Everyone under order of home quarantine shall send their selfie to the government every one hour from home.’
If the home quarantined person failed to send selfie every one hour — except between 10:00pm to 7:00am — then government team would reach the defaulters and shift them to the government created institutional quarantine venues.
The whole process will be monitored by the quarantine enforcement squad personnel.
