Summit Group on Monday donated Tk 3 crore to the Prime Minister Relief and Welfare Fund for the people living hand-to-mouth to ensure their survival during the coronavirus emergency situation.
Prime minister’s principal secretary Ahmad Kaikaus received the donation from Summit Group vice-chairman Md Farid Khan at the prime minister’s office in the capital, said a press release.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the programme through videoconferencing from Ganabhaban. The prime minister thanked the group for the donation.
Earlier, Summit Group donated 5 thermal scanners for the country’s international airports and prime minister’s office to fight COVID-19, the release added.
The group will also donate China-made two thousand personal protective equipment and thirty thousand masks.
