A Juba League activist was arrested on Sunday in charge of trading 68 sacks of rice allocated for Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme of the government at Shibchar upazila in Madaripur.
Arrested Masum Molla is an activist of Juba League Bashkandi union unit in the upazila and police also seized 68 sacks of rice weighing 51 maunds.
Shibchar UNO Md Asaduzzaman said that they had information that Masum was selling the rice meant for public distribution by the local government bodies, raided his shop and seized the rice.
