Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority inaugurated the celebration of the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner.
BEPZA executive chairman Major General S M Salahuddin Islam along with high officials began the Mujib Year with the placing of wreath at Mujib mural at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Early in the morning, the national flag was hoisted in the executive office decorated with lights and a music video on Mujib was displayed.
A Bangabandhu Corner was also inaugurated at the BEPZA Complex with the life cycle of Mujib in the auspicious moment of Mujib Year.
To uphold Mujib’s ideal, a day care centre was introduced at executive office for the children of all employees of BEPZA in the beginning of the Mujib Year.
The executive chairman along with member (investment promotion) Zillur Rahman, secretary Md Nabirul Islam, and general managers of all departments were present during the programme.
The eight EPZs under BEPZA started the day placing wreaths at the portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect. The life and political activities of Mujib was discussed in detail in the zones.
The main road and internal roads of the zones were adorned with banners and festoons containing historical pictures and messages of Mujib. BEPZA executive office and all EPZs arranged Doa Mahfil after Zohr prayer.
