Apu Biswas

Dhallywood actress Apu Biswas is making her highly-anticipated return to the silver screen in Debasis Biswas directed film ‘Shoshur Bari Zindabad-2’, a sequel to the 2002 film ‘Shoshurbari Zindabad’.

The film was scheduled to be released on March 20. However, its release has been delayed over coronavirus concerns. In an interview with New Age, Apu Biswas spoke on her current ventures, upcoming plans and more.

‘I decided to return to the silver screen after a break because the film lovers expect a lot from me. I hope people will enjoy the film,’ said Apu Biswas.

‘Shoshur Bari Zindabad-2’ is a romantic comedy film. Apu Biswas has enacted the role of Eashana in the film. Bappy Chowdhury has acted opposite her. Sadek Bachchu, Afzal Sharif, Kabila, Chikan Ali and others have also acted in the film. ‘Eashana is a short-tempered girl. She keeps people around her on their toes. Bappy is a very good actor and friendly person. I have enjoyed acting opposite him,’ added Apu.

When asked about her future plans, Apu, who has acted in over 80 films, including many box office hits, said, ‘I am returning to the silver screen after a long break. If my upcoming film receives good response, I will think about acting in films regularly.’

Apu married Dhallywood superstar Shakib in secret in 2008 and broke silence over marrying Shakib in April last year. The couple has a son named Abraham Khan Joy. Shakib sent divorce letter to Apu Biswas arguing that the Dhallywood diva did not follow the Islamic customs in December last year.

When asked about her only son Abraham Khan Joy, she said, ‘He is now over years old. I have admitted him to the International School Dhaka. I want to raise him as a good human being.’
