A three-day art exhibition titled ‘Life & Works of Bangabandhu’ began at Jagannath University (JnU) on Tuesday.
Jagannath University vice-chancellor Professor Mijanur Rahman inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest.
JnU fine arts department has organised the exhibition marking the birth centenary of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the ground floor of the new academic building.
Professor Mijanur Rahman expressed deep appreciation of the art exhibition and hoped that it would encourage students to know about the glorious life and works of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The exhibition features 43 artworks by the teachers and students of fine arts department.
The artworks portray life and journey of Mujib.
Among others, chairman of fine arts department of JnU Professor Bazlur Rashid Khan, treasurer Professor Kamaluddin Ahmed, proctor Md Mostofa Kamal, registrar Wahiduzzaman, JnU Teachers’ Association president Professor Nure Alam Abdullah and general secretary Professor Shamima Begum were present at the inaugural ceremony.
‘We have arranged the art exhibition to pay tribute to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and portray his life and works. I hope, the younger generation will follow in his footsteps. I thank the participants for making the exhibition a success,’ Bazlur Rashid Khan told New Age.
The exhibition will continued till March 19.
