A 5-day residential UMSAILS-UAP Spring School 2020 was held on the BRAC University residential campus in Savar from March 10-14.

The programme was organised by UNESCO Madanjeet Singh South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies, or UMSAILS, in partnership with the Department of Law and Human Rights of the University of Asia Pacific, said a release.

58 law students from Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan participated in this programme.

Associate professor and adviser of LLM programme Chowdhury Ishrak Ahmed Siddiky delivered the welcome speech while director of SAILS Sharif Bhuiyan chaired the opening session on Tuesday. 

National and international resource persons delivered lectures during the event.

The closing ceremony was chaired by UAP vice-chancellor Jamilur Reza Choudhury.

SAILS chairperson Kamal Hossain, former judge of Supreme Court of India Justice Hemant Laxman Gokhale, UAP treasurer retired Air Commodore Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, among others, were also present.
