Bangladesh Udichi Shilpighosthi has postponed the Dhaka audition round of 11th Satyen Sen Ganasangeet Utsab O Jatiya Ganasangeet Pratijogita due to concern over the spread of coronavirus, says a press release.

The audition round was scheduled to be held today at Mukti Bhaban of Purana Paltan in the capital.

The organisation has been arranging the event annually since 2010 marking birth anniversary of noted author-politician Satyen Sen.

As part of the event Udichi annually arranges people’s song competition in different districts and divisions across Bangladesh. Following which, a people’s song festival is held in Dhaka.

This year a two-day people’s song festival is scheduled to be held from March 27 to 28.

‘We postponed the audition round due to concern over the spread of coronavirus. The government has urged to avoid mass gatherings so we decided to postpone the round,’ Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Ghoshti vice president Ekram Hossain told New Age.
