Leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh on Saturday at a discussion said that establishing equal rights of women in the society would not be possible without changing the social system.

In a bureaucratic ruling system, women are treated as commodity and used for earning profit, so the ruling system should be changed for establishing equal rights of women, they observed.

CPB held the discussion meeting to mark International Women’s Day to be observed today. Mujahidul Islam Selim, president of the party, said that the socialist ruling system could ensure equal rights of women in the society.

Chaired by presidium member of the party Laxmi Chakrabarty, the meeting was attended by central leaders of the party AN Rasheda, Lina Chakrabarty, Sajedul Huq Rubel, Luna Noor, Samajtantrik Mahila Forum general secretary Shampa Basu and others.

Prior to the discussion, the party brought out a procession that paraded different roads of Purana Paltan area.
