ONE Bank Limited has launched its agent banking service to join the growing list of banks which are taking banking services to unbanked people in both urban and rural areas.
ONE Bank chairman Sayeed H Chowdhury formally inaugurated the bank’s agent banking service at a programme at the bank’s corporate headquarters in Dhaka on Monday, said a press release on Wednesday.
Bank’s vice-chairman Ashok Das Gupta, executive committee chairman Zahur Ullah, directors ASM Shahidullah Khan, Shawket Jaman, Salahuddin Ahmed and Kazi Rukunuddin Ahmed and managing director M Fakhrul Alam, along with senior executives of the bank were also present at the launching ceremony, it said.
ONE Bank aims to provide modern and enhanced banking services to customers through the agent banking service, said the release.
The agent banking will cater to wide range of services including opening current and savings accounts, cash deposit and withdrawal, opening fixed deposit and DPS, utility bill payment, passport fees collection, fund transfer, collection of inward remittance, hotel booking, purchasing air and bus ticket, applying for retail and SME loans and OK wallet services, it said.
