Padatik holds travelling cultural show marking Amar Ekushey

Theatre troupe Padatik Nattya Sangsad (Bangladesh) held travelling cultural show, featuring songs and street plays, at different places of Dhaka marking the Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day on Friday.

Convenor of Canada Toronto Bangla Book Fair Sheikh S Ahmed Sadi inaugurated the cultural show at Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Rayerbazar. Following which, cultural performances were held at Nilabazar in Purbachal and Mukul Fauz Field in Mirpur.

Padatik Nattya Sangsad (Bangladesh) staged its street play ‘Nuru Mia(n)r Kichchha’ and members of Padatik Sangeet Sangsad performed songs glorifying the language movement at the venues. Besides, Goti Theatre staged its street play ‘Bajikaar’ at Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Rayerbazar and Nilabazar and Aboyob Natyadal staged a street play ‘Tolo Awaj’ at Mukul Fauz Field.

Padatik Nattya Sangsad (Bangladesh) has been organising cultural shows marking Amar Ekushey since 1998.

The troupe introduced travelling cultural show in 2019 to entertain the masses who cannot attend cultural shows held on Dhaka University campus.

‘We organised the first travelling cultural show in 2019 to entertain the masses who cannot attend cultural shows held on Dhaka University campus because of distance. This year’s show drew huge audience,’ Sabil Reza Chowdhury, acting team leader of Padatik Nattya Sangsad (Bangladesh), told New Age.
