Federation of Film Societies of India felicitated renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker Tanvir Mokammel on the opening day of Bangladesh Film Festival at Nandan Film and Cultural Centre in Kolkata, India on Friday.
Indian filmmaker Kamaleshwar Mukherjee felicitated Tanvir Mokammel at the programme.
Federation of Film Societies of India organised the two-day Bangladesh Film Festival on February 21 and 22 marking the International Mother Language Day.
The festival featured four Bangladeshi films namely ‘Fagun Haway’ directed by Tauquir Ahmed, ‘Komola Rocket’ by Noor Imran Mithu, ‘Alpha’ by Nasiruddin Yousuff and omnibus film ‘Iti Tomari Dhaka’.
‘I am honoured and humbled to be felicitated by Federation of Film Societies of India. This is a recognition to the alternative film movement in Bangladesh,’ Tanvir Mokammel told New Age.
