Interschool Bangla Olympiad was held at International Hope School Bangladesh at Nasirabad in Chattogram on Saturday.
The school organised the event and the daily Azadi editor M A Malek inaugurated it.
Chittagong University’s former vice-chancellor Professor Iftekharul Islam, and school principal Roksana Zarin, among others, were present in the inauguration ceremony.
A total of 342 students of 26 English-medium and English-version schools participated in the daylong event.
Bangla Olympiad Coordinator Kamrul Ahsan said that they were proud to host the event every year, commemorating all the martyrs of the historic Language Movement.
A prize distribution ceremony was held in the afternoon.
