Poet Milton Shafi’s collection of poems ‘Nibbhrite Nirbashoney’ has hit this year’s Ekushey Book Fair.
The book is the third work of Shafi. His first collection of poems ‘Kalopurush’ was published in 2004. After his second work ‘Ekti Swapno Snato Narir Jonyo Prarthona’ was published in 2005, Shafi decided to take a break from publishing his work.
‘I started writing poems to express my thoughts and emotions. I published my poems to share my thoughts. After my second work came out, I decided to take a break,’ said Milton Shafi.
However, he never stopped putting his thoughts down on paper. The poems in ‘Nibbhrite Nirbashoney’ were written between 2005 and 2008.
‘But as time went by, I began feeling an urge to publish my poems. In the end, the poet in me prevailed and I decided to publish my third book at this year’s book fair after 15 years,’ he added.
‘Nibbhrite Nirbashoney’ has been published from Shikha Publications. It contains 64 poems. Charu Pintu has designed the cover.
‘The poems vary in length. There are some which comprise only a few lines, which are fast becoming popular among readers. I hope readers will find the poems enjoyable,’ he ended.
