The authorities of Jashore University of Science and Technology have expelled six students.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the regent board of the university, said JUST vice-chancellor Professor Md Anwar Hossain.
The actions were taken against the students for their involvement in ragging, attacking VC office, obstructing teachers’ appointments and other anti-disciplinary activities, the VC added.
The meeting was held at the conference room of the administrative building of the university on Tuesday noon with Professor Md Anwar Hossain, vice-chancellor of JUST, in the chair. Other members of the regent board also present there during the meeting.
Of the expelled, Ekramul Kabir Dwip of fisheries and marine bio-science department and Antor Dey Shubho of physical studies and sports science department were expelled for lifetime while Rakibul Hasan and Raihan Uddin of electrical and electronic engineering department were expelled for one year. Humaira Azmira Arin and Isme Azam of fisheries and marine bio- science department were expelled for two years.
