Boy dies after mass beating in Bogra for shaking hand with girl

A teenaged boy succumbed to his injuries on Saturday after being beaten up by villagers for shaking hand with a girl during prize giving ceremony of a football match at Nandipara of Bogra on Friday afternoon.
Police said there was football match at Nadipra School ground o Friday and during its prize distribution Raihan Ali, 18, shook hands with a girl of South Nandipara that irked the people from the village and they beat up Raihand severely. He was taken to Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital, Bogra where he succumbed to his injuries.
As the news spread on Saturday, relatives of Raihan and villagers attacked several houses at South Nandipara that injured a number of people including three women.
Police also arrested one a youth Chayan from South Nandipara on suspicion of his involvement in attacking Raihan.
Raihan’s father filed a murder case with Bogra sadar police.
Tension was prevailing among villagers of the two villages till filing of this report on Saturday evening.
