Bipattarini Puja in Dhaka

Hindu devotees on Tuesday celebrated Bipattarini Puja in Dhaka, praying to Goddess Kali for the wellbeing of the society. As of part ritual, female devotees released oil lamps to the Buriganga river.
Bipatarini is dedicated to Goddess Bipattarini – a manifestation of Mother Goddess Kali. Bipattarini is a Hindu goddess (Devi), worshipped in West Bengal, Orissa and surrounding areas. Devotees said they observe the Puja every year in Dhaka’s Shakari Bazar area praying for the well being, good health of all. The Puja is also locally known as Bipad Nashini Puja.
