First Hajj flight leaves Dhaka

The first Hajj flight of this year from Bangladesh left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia with on Saturday morning carrying 419 pilgrims. The passengers were carried by a Boeing of Bangladesh Biman that left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Jeddah at 7:52am. A total of 126,198 Bangladeshis are expected to join Hajj pilgrimage this year. The government is facilitating 6,198 pilgrims to perform Hajj and the remaining 120,000 pilgrims would perform Hajj through private means. Return flights will start on August 27 and continue until September 25.
