Poetry book on Mujib launched

A poetry book on country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was launched at a programme held at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Sufia Kamal National Public Library on Thursday.

Eminent short story writer and novelist Professor Hasan Azizul Huq launched the book penned by Imrose Sohel titled ‘Tomar Payer Ektu Dhulo’.

Bishaw Bangla Prokashon organised the event.

Hasan Azizul Huq inaugurated the programme as the chief guest by lighting candles. Among others, director of National Book Centre Poet Minar Mansur was present as special guest.

Artistes recited poems from the book.

Rupa Chakraborti recited Shobi Achhey Tumi Shudhu Nei, Jayanta Chattopadhyay recited Mujiber Hatpakha. Besides, Dr Shahadat Hossain Nipu, Mahidul Islam, Jahan Bashir, Rashed Hasan, Nazmul Ahsan, Masus Azizul Basahar and others recited poems at the show.

Imrose Sohel informed that Tomar Payer Ektu Dhulo is his 19th poetry book. Nine more books are in pipeline.

Bishaw Bangla Prokashon owner Jahan Bashir said, ‘We started our journey as a new publication house with Imrose Sohel’s book. We hope poetry lovers will find it entertaining.’
