Fahim-led new committee takes charge of FBCCI

The newly elected board of directors of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Sunday took over the charges of the apex trade body for next two years.
The newly elected FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim, senior vice-president Md Muntakim Ashraf and 6 other vice-presidents along with the directors took their charges at a ceremony held at FBCCI conference centre in the city.
Six vice-presidents are Hasina Newaaz, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Md Rejaul Kariem Rejnu, Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Md Siddiqur Rahman and Nizamuddin Rajesh.
At the takeover ceremony, the outgoing FBCCI president Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin handed over the flag of the apex trade body to Fahim.
Former FBCCI presidents Mahbubur Rahman, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed and AK Azad attended the ceremony.
The election board of the FBCCI on April 27 announced all 42 directors of the FBCCI elected unopposed as no other candidates submitted nominations for the posts.
Fahim, son of senior Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim and nephew of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was declared winner of the president post on April 29 as there was no other candidate.
Other office bearers were also elected in same way.
