A fire incident took place at National Jute Mills in Sirajganj early Wednesday.

Five units of Fire Service and Civil Defence along with locals and police doused the fire after four hours of hectic efforts.

Sadar police station sub-inspector Mokarram Hossain confirmed the matter to journalists saying no casualties were recorded in the incident.

The fire that broke out at around 5:00am might have been originated from an electric short circuit, he added.
