A week-long Victory Festival marking the 48th Victory Day organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy commenced at its open field on Friday.
The week-long event is featuring film screenings, theatre shows, jatra, music, dances and more. The event will commence every day with film screening at 4:30pm.
Films that won Best Film Award (documentary) and Best Film Award (short) in the second edition of Bangladesh Short and Documentary Film Festival will be screened at the event.
Films like Galpo Sangkhep, directed jointly by Swajan Majhi and Ashim Sarkar, Ghran directed by SM Kamrul Ahsan, Kabi Swamir Mriyur Por Amar Jobanbandi directed by Tasmiah Afrin Mou and documentaries including Aminul Haque’s Operation Jackpot, Jhumur Asma Jui’s Putul Purana and Farid Ahmed’s Lal Sabujer Dipabali will be screened during the festival.
Popular theatre productions like Hamlet, Circus Circus and others will be staged at the event. Besides, BSA Acrobatic troupe will present acrobatic shows, while its artistes will entertain the audience presenting songs and dance recitals at the venue. The festival will end on December 27.
