Actor Ziaul Roshan, who garnered attention for his good looks and performance in his debut film Rakto, says he does not want to confine himself to typical ‘hero’ roles.
Roshan played the lead role opposite Porimoni in the action film, directed by Wazed Ali Sumon.
While talking to New Age, the actor said instead of being typecast as the romantic, intelligent and combat-expert male as seen in commercial formulaic films, he would like to play roles in which he can demonstrate his acting talent.
‘I want to be an actor, and I am eager to try out roles as diverse as possible, roles that will test my ability,’ he said.
He took up acting for his passion for the medium, he added, and wants to achieve excellence in this profession.
‘After my maiden performance, I got positive feedback from the audience, which is really inspiring. I think I would love to do some really good films for my fans.
‘And I would like to play diverse roles that will give me the chance to show my acting prowess. No matter what the character is - a rickshaw puller, taxi driver, police officer – I want to give it my best shot,’ he said.
Roshan also talked about his current engagements.
‘I have recently signed a new film with Jazz Multimedia, which had also produced Rokto. Dhattariki, the film, also stars Nusrat Faria, Arefin Shuvo and newcomer Farin. It is scheduled to go on the floors in December,’ he said.
Roshon further said he is planning to diversify into new areas of entertainment including TV commercials.
