Local, foreign photographers participate

Eighty three local and two foreign photographers displayed their works at a two-day wedding and portrait photography contest held at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Wedding and Portrait Photographers of Bangladesh organised the contest titled ‘WPPB ICCE18’ that featured 215 photographs displayed under nine categories, including, Bride and Groom Together, Bride Single, Groom Single, Ceremony, Detail, Creative, Moment, Pre/post Shoot/Engagement, Fashion Portrait, and Children.
Ahsan Ullah Rifat has captured a pair of wedding rings in midair in his displayed photograph. Khaled’s photograph shows the bride and groom sitting together after their marriage.
Reazul Islam Shawon’s photograph shows a bride sitting holding flowers in her hands.
The displayed photograph by Richard Mahadi Hasan shows a couple walking onsea beach holding hands.
The photograph by Tamal shows a groom posing for photographers.
Three best photographs were awarded on the closing day. The winner of the contest received Tk 30,000, while the 1st runner up received TK 20,000 and the 2rd runner up received TK 10,000.
Besides photo show, the event also featured a Photography Masterclass by Polish photographer Greg Moment at Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh on Wednesday where 30 aspiring wedding and portrait photographers participated.
