Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu on Saturday said that there were still conspiracies in the country to disrupt the democratic process and resist the present government’s journey towards development.
Mentioning that such conspiracies usually intensified ahead of the general election, he said that the upcoming national election would be held on time as per constitution as they were held in other democratic nations, despite all conspiracies.
‘I strongly believe that the country people will vote to bring Sheikh Hasina to power again, resisting all conspiracies like they have done in the past,’ the minister claimed.
Amu was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed railway line built between Shahjalal Fertilizer Factory Limited and Maijgaon Railway Station in Fenchuganj of Sylhet as the chief guest in the morning.
He said that Bangladesh had established itself as a self-reliant and dignified country in the world as its people had given the mandate to Sheikh Hasina to lead the country towards development.
‘They (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) has tried again and again to resist prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s journey towards development. They even tried to kill her 19 times,’ the industries minister said at the programme.
Local lawmaker Mahmud-Us Samad and Moazzem Hossain Ratan, among others, attended the programme.
The rail track was constructed at a cost of Tk 7 crore to ease the transport of 816 tonnes of urea, produced at Shahjalal Fertilizer Factory Limited on average daily, to different destinations across the country, the authorities concerned said.
The industries minister left Fenchuganj around 10:30am to attend another programme at Tahirpr in Sunamganj in the afternoon as the chief guest.
Amu arrived in Fenchuganj by a helicopter around 10:00am.
