Relatives of the woman, whose body was recovered along with her two children at Madhabpur in Habiganj on Friday night, claimed that the victim’s husband murdered her as they were not happy in their conjugal life.
The body of Hadisa Akter, 24, wife of Mujibur Rahman Mazid, of Nijnagar village at the Madhabpur upazila, and throat-slit bodies of her three-year-old daughter Meem Akter and seven-month-old son Mozahid were recovered from their house on Friday night, police said.
One of the physicians, who performed postmortem examination of the woman’s body, told the reporters that symptom of killing has been found in the dead body.
Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital physician Devashish Roy told New Age that marks of injury were found on her body.
The bodies of Hadisa and her children were buried in the graveyard of her parents’ home at Konagram of Bijoynagar upazila in B’baria on Saturday night.
Hadisa’s father Shamim Miah filed a murder case with the Madhabpur police on Saturday night against seven people mentioning Mazid as the prime suspect.
Shamim alleged that Mazid was used to torture his daughter for dowry.
Claiming Mazid was engaged in an extra-marital affair, Shamim alleged that Mazid murdered Hadisa and her children for that reason, police said.
Madhabpur police officer-in-charge Chandan Kumar Chakrabarti confirmed New Age of filing the case in the triple murder.
‘No arrest was made so far in this connection,’ the police officer said on Sunday evening, adding that Mazid and his family members went into hiding after the triple murder.
