Case filed against Bus owner, driver, helper

A case was filed on Thursday night against the owner, driver and supervisor of the bus that caused the death of 13-month girl Afifa in Chaurhash intersection in Kushtia district town on Tuesday.
The victim’s father Har-or-Rashid filed the case with Kushita police station accusing bus owner Jainul Abedin, driver Khokon, and supervisor Yunus, said police station officer-in-charge Nasir Uddin.
None of the accused was arrested until Friday evening, he said.
Afifa sustained injuries after falling down from her mother’s lap, as a Gandharaj Paribahan bus hit the mother, Rina Akter, in Kushtia district town Tuesday morning when she was crossing road in Chaurhash intersection.
The mother and the baby were rushed to Kushtia General Hospital from where Afifa was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to the injuries early Thursday.
The baby died of head injury, said Sohel Mahmud, chief of DMCH forensic department, who conducted the autopsy.
