Popular small-screen actor Sajal has played diverse characters in Eid special serials and teleplays aired on different television channels as part of Eid special programmes.
Tonight, Sajal will be seen playing the character of a youth living in old Dhaka in the ten-episode short Eid series titled ‘Shomoyta Amader’, which will be aired on ATN Bangla at 7:30pm.
‘I have enacted diverse characters in a number of Eid special teleplays and series, including, romantic, pure comedies and a few message-oriented ones, which are being aired on different TV channels’, said Sajal.
In Shomoyta Amader, written and directed by Mohon Khan, Sajal befriends an old widower named Wahab Hazi, who lives in Old Dhaka, after falling for Hazi’s niece.
‘Shomoyta Amader’s plot revolves around members of a family living in the Old Dhaka. The series depicts familial bond and contains comic elements,’ said Sajal.
Bonna Mirza, Mila, Dipa Khandakar, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Joyonto Chattopaddhay and others have acted in the series.
Sajal acted in romantic Eid teleplays like Mahmud Hasan Rana’s Anyarakam Bhalobasa, Sokal Ahmed’s Megher Gaye Natun Jama and Nazmul Rony’s Biparit Bhalobasa, which were aired respectively on Baishakhi TV, Maasranga TV and SATV on Sunday.
He enacted the character of an expatriate in Chayanika Chowdhury’s romantic teleplay Swapnagulo Tomay Khoje, which was aired on Maasranga TV on Friday.
Besides, the actor enacted comic characters in Jamal Mallick’s Bou Shashuri Zindabad and Shahjada Mamun’s Patra Nirbachan.
Sharing his experiences about acting in Eid special teleplays and series, Sajal said, ‘Eid productions are made to entertain viewers. Comparatively, these productions are better than usual ones. I hope viewers found teleplays and series starring me entertaining’, said Sajal.
Sajal made his acting debut in a teleplay titled ‘Tokhono Jante Baki’ in 2004. The actor has played lead in many acclaimed small screen productions like Apur Opekkahay, Foring, Bhul Thikanai Jatra, Rongtuli and others.
Sajal made his silver screen debut in the film Nijhum Aronye (2010). He played lead in Bangladeshi action romance film Run Out (2015).
