Six ‘drug peddlers’ held with 2.7 lakh Yaba tablets in city

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested six suspected drug peddlers along with 2.7 lakh Yaba tablets from the capital’s Elephant road area.

The drive was conducted from Wednesday till Thursday morning, said senior assistant superintendent of police Mizanur Rahman (media) of RAB headquarters.

One of the arrested was identified as Jahir Ahmed, a listed drug peddler of Teknaf while the identities of the others could not be identified yet.

The elite force members also recovered Tk 16,64,100 in cash, believed to be earned after selling Yaba, from their possession.
