GP cuts price of 2 internet packages to implement VAT cut decision

Grameenphone on Thursday announced that the operator had reduced tariff of two internet packages in accordance with government decision to reduce value-added taxes on internet usage from 15 per cent to 5 per cent.
New benefits of other internet packages will also be announced soon, it said.
The current 2 gigabyte at Tk 42 offer with two day validity will be available at Tk 38 and 1 gigabyte at Tk 94 offer (7 days validity) will be available at Tk 86 from August 3, 2018.
Grameenphone deputy chief executive officer and chief marketing officer Yasir Azman said, ‘We appreciate government’s decision to reduce VAT, which has paved the way for Grameenphone to offer more data to our valued customers at a lower price.’
‘Now our customers will be able to access the world of internet at a more affordable price and experience
our superior network quality,’ he said.
Grameenphone has been the pioneer in providing mobile internet across the country.
The company was recently recognised by Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, as the fastest mobile network in the country.
