Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s mayoral candidate for Barisal City Corporation, Mojibar Rahman Sarwar announces boycotting the elections at a news conference at Barisal Press Club on Monday.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s mayoral candidate for Barisal City Corporation, Mojibar Rahman Sarwar has boycotted the elections protesting at widespread stuffing and manipulation.

Sarwar announced the decision from a press conference at Barisal Press Club, four hours after the voting began.

Earlier, Islami Andolon Bangladesh also called it quits raising the complaint of vote rigging.

Sarwar earlier alleged that his polling agents were kicked out from at least 50 voting centres during the elections.
