Mobile operator Grameenphone and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on Thursday signed a signed a memorandum of understanding to bridge the gap between industry and academia and drive a series of initiatives in digital innovation, said a press release.
GP chief human resources officer Syed Tanvir Husain and BUP registrar brigadier general Abul Kashem Md Ibrahim signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations at a ceremony in BUP.
BUP vice chancellor major general Md Emdad-Ul-Bari and GP chief executive officer Michael Foley and chief corporate officer Mahmud Hossain were also present in the programme.
The partnership between the organisations will facilitate faculty members and students of BUP to get first-hand experience in digital innovation, said the press release.
They will get the opportunity to learn about practical and global standard product-service development endeavors being conducted by GP in various areas, including IoT-M2M, Cloud, Smart Services, Digital Services. These learnings can serve as advanced learning and research opportunities, it said.
