Sylhet-based theatre troupe Kathakalli Sylhet celebrated its 35th founding anniversary through a programme held at Kabi Nazrul Auditorium at Rikabibazar, Sylhet city on Sunday.
The troupe staged its production Durbin Shah at the programme, which also featured discussion and recitation.
The programme commenced with a discussion presided over by Kathakalli Sylhet president Shamima Chowdhury.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Ehsan Uddin Chowdhury, Sammilita Natya Parishad Sylhet president Mishfaq Ahmad Mishu, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote Sylhet unit general secretary Gautam Chakrabarti and Kathakali Sylhet general secretary Arup Shyam Bappi, among others were present at the discussion.
Artistes recited poems protesting at anomalies in society, sexual harassment against women and others at the show.
Members of Kathakalli Sylhet later staged Durbin Shah to the delight of the audience.
