Man stabbed dead by ‘nephew’ in Sylhet

A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his nephew at Chatul bazar of Kanaighat in Sylhet early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Nazim Uddin, 38, son of late Faizul Haque, a resident of Parbatpur Ratanpur village at Borochatul of the upazila.

Nazim’s nephew Almas stabbed him indiscriminately when he went to the bazar around 8:00pm on Thursday, leaving him critically injured, said police.

Later, he was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12.30am on Friday.

However, the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
