Forest fire burns out 100 acres in Teknaf

A fire at Teknaf Reserved Forest had destroyed about 100 acres of area of Naytong Hill at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar along the border with Myanmar.
Divisional forest officer Ali Kabir said they called fire service after locals informed them about the fire at 10 to 15 places in the forest on Thursday morning.
Fire fighters, accompanied by forest department officials, local administration and cops, started dousing the flames at 2:00pm and brought the fire under control at 6:00pm.
He, however, could not confirm the reason behind the fire.
Nayaparha registered and Leda makeshift Rohingya refugee camps are adjacent to the north and north-east of the forest.
