Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League were hacked to death in Moulvibazar town on Thursday evening.
Police said Sultan Md Shabbab, 23, of Syed Mujtaba Ali Road of the town, and Nahid Ahmed Mahi, 18, of Durlabpur village in sadar upazila, came under the attack of a group of assailants when they were having a chat in front of Moulvibazar Government Boy’s High School.
They died of wounds from cleaver-like sharp weapons on the way to a local hospital.
Moulvibazar police officer-in-charge Suhel Ahmed said the killing might have been committed over factional feud of BCL.
Moulvibazar district BCL president Asaduzzaman Roney, however, claimed that the deceased were not involved with BCL politics in any way.
