Awami League publicity and publication secretary Hassan Mahmud on Friday said that like in other democratic countries of the world, prime minister Sheikh Hasina would remain the head of the government during the next parliamentary polls.
‘Sheikh Hasina will be the head of election-time government and the polls will be held under the Election Commission,’ he said while speaking as chief guest at a discussion meeting marking the 75th birth anniversary of eminent nuclear scientist Wazed Miah.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organised the discussion meeting at Shilpakala Academy in the city with the organizstion’s President Syed Hassan Imam in the chair.
AL Dhaka city south general secretary Shahe Alam Murad, World University vice-chancellor Professor Abdul Mannan, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote vice-president Enamul Huq, Shilpakala Academy director general Liaqat Ali Lucky and AL leader Baloram Poddar addressed the meeting.
Hassan Mahmud said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party had been isolated from the people because of its wrong politics of not joining the last general election.
