The Bangladesh Cricket Board will gouge the response from the spectators before making a decision on a possible price reduction on tickets of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League, said a BCB official on Tuesday.
The BCB, on Monday, revealed the ticket prices for the seventh edition of the BPL in five separate categories.
The tickets of the eastern stand of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium was set on Tk 200, with the northern and southern stand tickets being Tk 300, the club house and VIP stand placed at Tk 500 and the grand stand being Tk 2,000.
The ticket prices were deemed a bit on the higher side for the regular spectators but the BCB wanted to first see the response from the crowd before taking any decision to reduce it.
‘It’s starting tomorrow [today], we will keep an eye on it. After seeing the response, if there is a scope for reconsideration, we will definitely do it,’ BCB’s chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters in Mirpur.
The tickets for the Dhaka phase were put on sale on Tuesday, and tickets could be purchased from booths at the venue and in select online platforms Shohoz, Paypoint and Gadget Bangla.
