3-day math conference at Dhaka University underway

The three-day international mathematics conference passed the second day on Saturday at AF Mujibur Rahman Mathematics Building of Dhaka University.

On the day, a total of 66 papers were presented while professor Michael Vynnycky from Ireland, professor Jose Maria P Balmaceda from Philippines, professor TMG Ahsanullah from Saudi Arabia, professor OD Makinde from South Africa, professor Binayak S Choudhury from India and professor Taufiquar R Khan from the USA addressed different sessions.

Earlier on Saturday, Dhaka University vice-chancellor professor M Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the event at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate building with the theme, ‘Mathematics: Challenges and Reality’.

Over 300 mathematicians from Bangladesh, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, USA, KSA, Nepal, South Africa, Portugal, Philippines, Ireland and India joined the conference, said convenor of the conference and DU mathematics professor Md Shahidul Islam.
