Central leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh on Friday at a rally demanded justice in the incident of an attack on party leaders on November 28 and withdrawal of a case filed against some of its leaders over the attack.
CPB Shantinagar branch held a rally at Shantinagar crossing where central leader Joly Talukder said that the leaders and activists of area brought out a procession in Dhaka on November 28 evening in protest at the attack on former CPB president and labour leader Manzurul Ahsan Khan in Jamalpur in the afternoon on the day.
The procession in Dhaka came under attack of some leaders and activists of the ruling party.
The attackers severely injured the party’s Shantinagar branch secretary Monzur Moin, labour leader Hossain Ali, Bangladesh Students’ Union general secretary Anik Roy, Joly said.
Police took no step against the attackers, rather filed a case with the Paltan police station against the injured, Joly complained.
She demanded that the police should file a case against the attackers and ensure justice by taking further actions against them.
She also asked the police to withdraw the case filed against CPB leaders and activists.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different roads in Shantinagr area.
