Leaders of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD on Monday at a protest rally called on the Awami League government to step down from power before December 29, as they came in power through a farcical general election held on December 30 in 2018.

He called on the government to form a national government for handing over power to them.

JSD organised the rally in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka protecting against government’s plan for increasing power price again and its failures to control price hike of essentials.

JSD president ASM Abdur Rob said that the Awami League government had no right to hold onto the power, as they had done vote robbery in the night of December 29.

He said that the government had failed to control the syndicates who had manipulated markets by increasing prices of essential commodities.

The government was trying to increase the price of power which would increase sufferings of the common people and Rob called on the government to refrain from the plan.

Chaired by JSD Dhaka city unit coordinator Kamal Uddin Patwari, the rally was addressed by the party’s central leaders Mohammad Siraj Miah, Tania Rob, Syed Belaet Hossain Belal and others.
