GoFundMe page set up for Andrew Kishore

A GoFundMe page has been launched to raise money for the treatment of National Film Award winning ailing singer Andrew Kishore, who is suffering from cancer.

Kishore, who has been diagnosed with aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma, is undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital under the supervision of Lim Sun Thai.

The page was set up on request of Lipika Andrew, wife of Andrew Kishore.

Andrew Kishore, who received National Film Award eight times, made his debut in 1977 with the film Mail Train. He has lent his voice to hundreds of popular playback songs till date. Besides, he recorded songs for Urdu and Hindi films.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over a check for taka 10 lakh to Andrew Kishore on September 8. The GoFundMe has been started with an aim of raising $25,000.

Kishore left Dhaka for Singapore on September 9.
