Bangladesh Tennis Federation general secretary Golam Morshed was removed from the federation following an allegation of sexual harassment to a teenage player.
National Sports Council, the regulatory authorities of sports, took the action a day after a case was filed against Morshed with Gulshan police station on charge of sexual harassment.
‘For the misconduct and anti-disciplines ground, Golam Morshed has been removed from his responsibility of the general secretary,’ said NSC secretary Masud Karim.
Karim himself will now act as BTF general secretary apart from his regular duty.
Gulshan police inspector (investigation) SM Kaium said that victim’s uncle, Hira Lal, filed the women and children abuse case with the police station on Wednesday.
The police was investigating the case, he said.
According to the case statement, Morshed offered dinner to the victim, a USA expatriate tennis player, on November 4, and abuse her.
Morshed could not be connected over phone as his phone was found switched off.
