The special felicitation ceremony of Bangladesh’s inaugural Test team will have one notable absente as Bangladesh’s first Test centurion Aminul Islam will not be present at the event, which will take place at the Eden Gardens on November 22.

Cricket Association of Bengal had earlier invited players who took part in Bangladesh’s inaugural Test match against India in to felicitate them on the opening day of both sides’ first day-night Test match.

Aminul, who struck a brilliant 145 in Bangladesh’s very first innings to mark the occasion, informed on Wednesday that he won’t be able to attend the programme due to personal reasons.

Aminul is currently working for the Asian Cricket Council to spread the game in other parts of Asia and currently resides in Australia with his family.

Al Shahriar, who is currently living in New Zealand, is also unlikely to attend the event due to visa problem, said one of his former team-mates.
