29 Dhaka University professors given farewell

Dhaka University Teachers Association gave farewell to 29 retired professors of the university at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus on Saturday.

Vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman attended the programme as chief guest and handed over crests among the retired teachers.

Presided over the association president ASM Maksud Kamal, the function was addressed by pro- Vice-chancellor (administration) Muhammad Samad, treasurer Md Kamal Uddin, former vice-chancellors AK Azad Chowdhury and SMA Faiz.

The association general Secretary Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam conducted the function. Deans of different faculty, provosts of different hall and chairmen of different department were present on the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Akhtaruzzaman said, Dhaka University would always remember the contribution of the retired teachers to education and research with gratitude.

He hoped their involvement with the university would continue in future.

Retired professors are Hossain Monsur, Humayun Reza, Md Enamul Haq, Naima Haq, Md Yunus, AHM Mostafizur Rahman, Babuna Faiz, Sirajul Haque, M Ziaul Haq Mamun, Nehal Karim, Salauddin M Aminuzzaman, Shahnaz Khan, Md Abdul Aziz, Mariam Begum, Chowdhury Mahmud Hasan, Hasina Khan, AAMS Arefin Siddique, Kajal Krishna Banarjee, Syed Mohammad Shahed, AKM Salahuddin, Md Abdul Muhit, Md Jinnat Imtiaz Ali, Nurul Amin Bepari, Amulya Chandra Mandal, M Shahiduzzaman, Sultana Syeed, AQM Mahbub, Md Serajul Islam and Belayet Hossain, said the release.
