1 - With his 64-run knock in the second innings against India on Saturday, Mushfiqur Rahim has overtook Mohammad Ashraful as the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in Tests against the neighbouring nation. Mushfiq was six-run behind Ashraful, who has 386 runs in 11 innings against India, before the start of the innings but boosted his tally to 444 in nine innings with a resilient fifty.
3 - India beat Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs, which was their third consecutive Test win by a margin of an innings and 100-plus runs. India previously defeated South Africa in their second and third home Tests by an innings and 137-run in Pune and by an innings and 202-run in Ranchi. Two other teams, Australia in 1930-31 and Pakistan in 2001-02, had previously achieved it.
4 - This was Bangladesh’s fourth innings defeat against India in ten Tests. India’s first innings victory over Bangladesh came in January 2004 in Dhaka, where the hosts lost by an innings and 140 runs. 6 - This was India’s sixth consecutive win in Tests, the joint most victories in succession for the nation in Tests. They had previously won six consecutive Tests in 2013, winning four against Australia and two against the West Indies.
10 - India captain Virat Kohli completed his 10th innings win as a captain on Saturday to overtake MS Dhoni’s record of most innings victory as an Indian captain. Both of them had nine Innings win under their belts before the match but with the dominating win against Bangladesh Kohli surpassed his predecessor.
