Padatik stages Gunjan Bibir Pala

Theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad (TSC) staged Gunjan Bibir Pala at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Thursday.

The play, written and directed by Sayik Siddiqui, revolves around a theatre activist named Manaranjan, who wants to promote traditional Bengali folk theatre.

Mominul Haq Dipu, Moshiur Rahman, Sayeeda Shamsi Ara, Md. Imran Khan Salman Shubho Chowdhury, Zinia Azad and others.

‘Today we staged the 43rd show of Gunjan Bibir Pala, which is the 41st production of our troupe. We have staged the play at different theatre festivals in India where it received a good response from the audience,’ Mominul Haque Dipu, a Padatik member, told New Age.

Sanjib Kumar Dey designed the stage, Atiqul Islam Joy designed lights and Sayeeda Shamsi Ara designed costumes and props for the play.

‘The artistes have brilliantly enacted the characters in the play. It is not only entertaining but also educative,’ Ashraful Alom, an audience member, told New Age.
